About the Role
Bridgemead Consulting is a holistic and innovative business consultancy dedicated to connecting forward-thinking organizations with exceptional leadership talent. We are currently recruiting an accomplished Head, Financial Controller & Budgeting to own the financial stewardship, reporting integrity, and budget governance for our Holdings Group. Reporting directly to the Group Executive Director of Finance, you will ensure our financial statements are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with IFRS and Nigerian regulations while driving financial discipline across our steel manufacturing, mining, and energy subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and Nigerian GAAP, managing complex intercompany eliminations and FX translations.
- Drive the group's annual budgeting process from inception to Board approval, establishing medium-term financial plans and enforcing a structured budget calendar.
- Monitor actual performance against budget, performing detailed variance analyses for EBITDA, operating margins, cost per tonne, and ROCE.
- Design, implement, and strengthen internal financial controls, maintaining robust accounting policies and overseeing standard costing for manufacturing entities.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external statutory audits, coordinating deliverables across all subsidiary finance teams.
- Oversee CAPEX planning, fixed asset registers, and ERP system integrations (SAP, Oracle) to automate reporting and ensure data integrity.
- Mentor, develop, and lead the financial control team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with a minimum of Second Class Upper (Master's degree or MBA is an advantage).
- Mandatory ACA (ICAN) or ACCA certification; CIMA qualification is an added advantage.
- 12 to 16 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a financial controller or senior reporting role within an industrial or manufacturing conglomerate.
- Demonstrated expertise in multi-entity financial consolidations and IFRS standards (IAS 16, IAS 36, IFRS 15, IAS 16, IAS 2, IAS 12).
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP FI/CO, Oracle Financials) and advanced financial modeling skills.
