About the Role
Unified Payment Services Limited, Nigeria’s premier payments and financial technology company founded in 1997, is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Head, Clearing and Settlement Operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure seamless file generation, clearing, reconciliation, and dispute management for local and international payment schemes while leading a dedicated team of operations professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily processing and hosting of T464, Base11, and VSS files for all clients.
- Oversee daily reconciliation, client support, and the generation of secondary settlement files.
- Monitor transaction data sources like PayAttitude, PayArena, and Hope PSB back office for financial extractions.
- Process approved clearing files for international schemes including VISA, Mastercard, UnionPay, and AMEX.
- Perform daily quality checks to prevent duplicate or incomplete submissions and handle file reprocessing within strict time windows.
- Manage the Dispute Management System (DMS), Inquiry Portal, and scheme chargebacks to prevent exposure from late presentment.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide designated operations staff to maintain high performance and accuracy.
- First Degree in Accounting or any numerate discipline.
- Mandatory professional membership of ICAN, CIMA, ACCA, or a similar recognized body.
- Minimum of 10 years post-NYSC experience in financial technology, banking operations, or the card payment industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional deductive reasoning, attention to detail, and a high degree of accuracy.
