About the Role
Open Access Consulting is a professional services firm dedicated to delivering strategic solutions in human capital development, expatriate and immigration services, recruitment, background check services, value-added consulting, and outsourcing services. We are currently recruiting a seasoned Head, Business Operations to lead the engine room of our banking operations, ensuring seamless branch workflows, stringent compliance, and robust risk management.
Key Responsibilities- Open the vault jointly with the designated custodian and disburse till cash to tellers against registers.
- Supervise tellers, customer care, and back-office processing throughout the day.
- Authorise transactions above teller limits, manage cash swaps, and monitor till and vault insurance limits.
- Oversee account opening, mandates, cheque management, transfers, and other customer instructions.
- Balance the vault at close of business, investigating and resolving any teller overages or shortages on the same day.
- Run and supervise end-of-day processing on the core banking application and review exception reports.
- Ensure branch cash holding stays within insured limits and arrange cash evacuation to correspondent banks.
- Enforce dual control, call-over of previous day tickets, and other essential operational controls.
- Coordinate with ICT on downtime issues and with Finance on daily proofs and reconciliations.
Candidates must meet the following educational, professional, and experience requirements:
- B.Sc. or HND in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- CIBN MCP strongly preferred (required for CBN approval) and ACIB an added advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years in banking operations, with at least 3 years supervising branch operations in an MFB or commercial bank.
- Must satisfy CBN fit-and-proper requirements and possess strong knowledge of CBN cash handling and operational guidelines.
- Proficiency in branch operations management, cash and vault management, transfer operations (NIP, NEFT), and core banking administration.
- Strong supervisory, problem-solving, and integrity skills, with the ability to speak the Igbo language.
