About the Role
Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc, one of Nigeria's leading non-life insurance companies, is seeking a strategic and dynamic professional to join our executive team as the Head, Actuarial Function. In this critical leadership role, you will provide independent oversight of our actuarial reserving, pricing, capital adequacy, and solvency management, ensuring our business operations align with industry best practices and regulatory standards across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Lead comprehensive actuarial reserving, pricing, and capital management strategies to support financial stability.
- Ensure strict compliance with National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) regulations and IFRS 17 reporting standards.
- Provide expert, independent actuarial advice to the Board of Directors and Executive Management to guide business decisions.
- Support innovative product development, optimal reinsurance structuring, and enterprise risk management initiatives.
- Oversee statutory reporting processes and mentor, lead, and develop a high-performing actuarial team.
- Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Fellowship or active progression toward Fellowship of a recognized actuarial body (FIAN, FIA, FASSA, FSA or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive actuarial experience, with at least 5 years operating in a senior leadership role within the insurance industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in statutory valuations, IFRS 17 implementation, capital management, and Nigerian insurance regulatory reporting.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, financial analysis, and communication skills with a strong commitment to corporate governance and integrity.
