About the Role
AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited is looking for a dedicated and experienced Hatchery Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. As a recognized market leader in the Day-Old Chicks sector, we are committed to delivering exceptional quality products and services that guarantee profitable poultry farming for our clients. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing day-to-day hatchery processes, ensuring optimal hatchability, and maintaining the highest standards of biosecurity and animal welfare across our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and optimize incubation and hatching processes to achieve maximum yield and high chick quality.
- Ensure proper handling, grading, and storage of fertile eggs prior to setting.
- Maintain strict hatchery hygiene, sanitation, and biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks.
- Monitor climate control systems, including temperature, humidity, and ventilation, reporting any deviations immediately.
- Assist actively in chick processing, sorting, vaccination, and dispatch activities.
- Record daily hatchery operational data accurately and prepare comprehensive routine reports for management.
- Identify equipment malfunctions or operational bottlenecks and report them promptly to the maintenance team.
- Ensure strict compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and occupational health and safety guidelines.
- Possession of an HND or B.Sc Degree in Animal Science, General Agriculture, Veterinary Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven hands-on experience working in a commercial hatchery or intensive poultry operations.
- Solid foundational understanding of modern hatchery equipment, climate control, and incubation processes.
- Strong organizational abilities with exceptional record-keeping and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
