About the Role
AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, a renowned market leader in the Nigerian day-old chicks and poultry industry, is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Assistant Farm Manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting overall farm operations, ensuring compliance with strict animal welfare standards, and optimizing production across our breeder, broiler, or layer facilities. Key Responsibilities- Assist the Farm Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising daily poultry farm operations to achieve productivity targets.
- Ensure uncompromising adherence to company biosecurity protocols, health, safety, and animal welfare standards.
- Monitor flock performance indicators including mortality, feed intake, weight gain, egg production, fertility, and hatchability.
- Supervise, mentor, and support farm supervisors, attendants, and other operational personnel.
- Oversee proper feeding, watering, vaccination, medication, and environmental management for all birds.
- Manage inventory of feed, medication, and farm consumables to minimize wastage and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate routine maintenance activities to ensure all farm facilities and equipment remain in optimal working condition.
- Collaborate closely with veterinarians, laboratory personnel, and management to execute disease prevention initiatives and prepare periodic operational reports.
- Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Science, Animal Production, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in commercial poultry production and farm management.
- Demonstrated expertise in breeder, broiler, or layer operations, with a proven ability to supervise farm personnel.
- Strong technical knowledge of poultry nutrition, disease prevention, vaccination, and biosecurity protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong capability in analyzing production data.
