About the Role
Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, a market leader in the Day Old Chicks industry dedicated to profitable poultry farming, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Farmers’ Technical Consultant (FTC) to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert technical support to Mother Units, Enterprise Advisors, and poultry farmers, ensuring the widespread adoption of best management practices, rigorous biosecurity standards, and enhanced profitability across agricultural enterprises in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Provide regular technical advisory and farm support to assigned farmers and Mother Units to optimize operational efficiency.
- Train and mentor farmers and Enterprise Advisors on modern poultry production, animal health, strict biosecurity, and overall farm management.
- Monitor bird performance metrics, identify technical bottlenecks, and recommend swift, actionable solutions.
- Support comprehensive disease prevention initiatives, vaccination schedules, and prompt reporting of any disease outbreaks.
- Conduct routine, structured farm visits to guarantee strict compliance with technical standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collect accurate production data and submit timely, detailed field reports to management.
- Liaise effectively with veterinarians, extension agents, input suppliers, and key stakeholders to streamline project implementation.
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree or HND in Animal Science, Animal Production, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Technology, Agricultural Extension, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on, practical poultry production or livestock extension experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of tropical poultry production systems and stringent biosecurity protocols.
- Exceptional training, communication, and interpersonal advisory skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate farm performance and resolve complex technical problems.
- Proficiency in report writing and digital data collection tools.
- Absolute willingness to travel extensively within assigned project locations.
