About the Role
Promasidor is a pioneering African FMCG leader committed to providing affordable, high-quality nutrition to millions across the continent through iconic brands like Cowbell. We are currently seeking multiple dynamic Group R&D Specialists to drive our innovation agenda across Beverages, Culinary, Dairy, and Extrusions (Cereals and Snacks). Reporting to the Group Senior Manager, R&D, you will own the category innovation pipeline from consumer-led briefs through formulation, scale-up, and commercial launch while serving as the technical authority across the Group.
Key Responsibilities- Define and own the multi-year R&D plan for the category, aligning with brand and commercial priorities.
- Lead end-to-end new product development (NPD), renovation, and value-engineering projects from concept to commercial launch.
- Ensure compliance with regional and international regulatory and food safety standards including NAFDAC, SON, and KEBS.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations to drive seamless factory scale-ups and alternative sourcing.
- Identify emerging technologies, sustainable ingredients, and process improvements to maintain a distinct competitive advantage.
- Lead, coach, and develop talented category R&D teams across multiple operating markets.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Nutrition, or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
- 8 to 10 years of progressive R&D experience within the FMCG industry, with specialized expertise in your chosen category.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in flavor development and managing cross-functional technical projects.
- Strong command of stage-gate discipline combined with a sharp commercial and consumer-centric mindset.
