About the Role
Bridgemead Consulting is a holistic and innovative business consultancy dedicated to connecting forward-thinking businesses with exceptional talent. We are currently recruiting a strategic and results-driven Group Head, Treasury & Financial Institutions to lead our treasury operations across our diverse steel manufacturing, mining, and energy subsidiaries. Reporting directly to the Group Executive Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in driving our financial sustainability, liquidity optimization, and capital growth within the dynamic Nigerian market.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the comprehensive treasury strategy, policies, and governance frameworks across all Group subsidiaries.
- Manage daily liquidity, working capital, intercompany funding, and robust rolling cash flow forecasts.
- Identify and manage foreign exchange (FX) exposures, ensuring strict compliance with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and FMDQ frameworks.
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with commercial banks, investment banks, and development finance institutions (DFIs) like AfDB, IFC, BOI, and Afreximbank.
- Negotiate and oversee credit facilities, trade finance instruments, letters of credit, and complex financing arrangements.
- Oversee short-term investment portfolios and optimize surplus cash generation within approved risk parameters.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Group Treasury team while championing best practices.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA or Master's degree is an advantage.
- Mandatory professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, CTP, or ACT.
- 12 to 18 years of progressive corporate finance and treasury experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Extensive industry background in heavy manufacturing, mining, energy, oil and gas, or tier-one financial institutions.
- Deep expertise in multi-currency operations, CBN regulations, trade finance, and advanced Treasury Management Systems (e.g., Kyriba, SAP TRM).
