About the Role
Bridgemead Consulting, a leading business consultancy connecting elite talent with top-tier organizations, is seeking a visionary and results-driven Group Head, Commercial & Corporate Strategy for our client operating in the steel manufacturing, mining, and energy sectors. This pivotal executive role will provide strategic leadership for commercial growth, corporate strategy, business development, and market expansion initiatives across all subsidiaries.
Working closely with Executive Management and subsidiary leadership, the successful candidate will provide critical market intelligence, commercial insights, and strategic recommendations to enhance competitiveness, improve profitability, and position the Group for sustainable growth within the Nigerian industrial landscape.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the Group's commercial and corporate strategy in alignment with overall business objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, investments, and market expansion initiatives across the Group's businesses.
- Lead commercial planning by conducting market research, competitive analysis, industry assessments, and business intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
- Drive revenue growth by developing commercial initiatives that strengthen market penetration, customer acquisition, and business performance across subsidiaries.
- Evaluate new business proposals, investment opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic collaborations, providing commercial and financial recommendations to Executive Management.
- Collaborate with subsidiary leadership to develop and implement growth strategies, improve commercial performance, and optimize profitability.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, regulators, financial institutions, investors, industry associations, and key business partners.
- Lead the development of corporate presentations, strategic reports, Board papers, business cases, and executive presentations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, or a related discipline.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Finance, Economics, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Must have 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, commercial management, business development, consulting, investment analysis, or strategic planning, with significant leadership responsibility.
- Prior experience within diversified conglomerates, manufacturing, mining, steel, energy, infrastructure, industrial organizations, or management consulting firms.
- Note: Frequent travel across Group subsidiaries is required.
