About the Role
Prixair Group, a leading hospitality and lifestyle company encompassing hotels, catering, and retail services, is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Cashier for our supermarket operations. In this role, you will serve as the face of our business at the checkout counter, ensuring every shopper enjoys a seamless, welcoming, and efficient end to their store experience.
Key Responsibilities- Greet customers politely and provide exceptional customer service throughout the checkout process.
- Scan items accurately, process payments via cash, POS, or mobile transfers, and issue correct change and receipts.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy when balancing the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Handle returns, refunds, exchanges, and discounts in accordance with company policies.
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, secure, and fully stocked with necessary supplies.
- Report damaged goods, pricing discrepancies, and suspicious transactions promptly to the supervisor.
- Adhere strictly to supermarket safety, health, and security procedures at all times.
- Minimum of OND, SSCE, or equivalent qualification in a related field.
- Proven work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar customer-facing role.
- Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
