About the Role

We are currently seeking an accomplished Group Head, Business Development and Strategy to develop our conglomerate's corporate strategy and translate Board-approved plans into sustainable market growth, increased market share, and optimized margins across all Strategic Business Units (SBUs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the annual strategic planning cycle and develop the Group Three-Year Plan in alignment with the Board and Executive Committee.
  • Build and manage the Group business intelligence capability, establishing a trusted single source of market, competitor, and demand data.
  • Drive regional market expansion strategies across Nigeria, West Africa, and wider African markets, leveraging AfCFTA and ECOWAS opportunities.
  • Facilitate monthly business reviews with SBU Managing Directors and Sales Heads to analyze variances, track performance, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop robust pricing frameworks, margin analyses, and comprehensive demand forecasts for manufacturing, steel, construction, and energy sectors.
  • Originate strategic growth opportunities, conduct thorough feasibility studies, and prepare decision-ready business cases for the Board Investment Committee.
Qualifications
  • HND or B.Sc. in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline; an MBA or master's degree is a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in corporate strategy, business development, commercial management, or strategy consulting, with at least 5 years at a senior management level.
  • Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, or specialized credentials in data analytics, pricing, or corporate strategy.
  • Demonstrated expertise within a holding company, conglomerate, or diversified industrial sector including manufacturing, steel, mining, or infrastructure.
  • Exceptional competencies in structured strategic thinking, financial modelling, board-level communication, and cross-functional leadership.
