About the Role

Emeraid International Group (EIG) is seeking an exceptional Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead day-to-day operating performance and institutional resilience across our diverse businesses and projects in development advisory, enterprise development, and renewable energy. Based in Nigeria, this pivotal executive role is designed to translate long-term company vision into actionable operational strategies, optimize shared services, and protect project margins without duplicating specialist functions. You will act as a primary driver of organizational accountability, freeing up executive leadership while empowering managers to deliver exceptional, measurable results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate approved strategic priorities into practical operating plans, budgets, and clear milestones across active business units.
  • Own the complete project lifecycle from mobilization through close-out, ensuring all technical plans, funding arrangements, and contracts are robust.
  • Maintain reliable portfolio dashboards, lead weekly performance reviews, and hold managers strictly accountable for deadlines and deliverables.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer to monitor budgets, control costs, and accelerate invoicing readiness and cash collections.
  • Strengthen internal shared services, coach mid-level managers, address performance gaps, and optimize organizational capacity.
  • Manage key client and partner relationships to ensure timely communication, thorough documentation, and prompt issue resolution.
  • Enforce stringent risk, safety, and quality controls, ensuring that all technical standards and audit recommendations are fully met.
  • Own routine operational decision-making to reduce organizational dependence on the CEO, escalating only material exceptions with clear recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience, with at least 5 years in substantial operational leadership roles across multiple business units or complex projects.
  • Relevant bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree (Master's) or recognized project management certification is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated track record in delivery recovery, resource optimization, budget accountability, and implementing effective operating systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in management reporting and financial data interpretation, with a strong ability to challenge assumptions constructively.
  • Professional background across at least two relevant sectors, such as renewable energy, development consulting, enterprise services, or multi-business groups.
  • Impeccable integrity, sound executive judgement, and proven success collaborating with founders, board members, and technical specialists.
Benefits
  • Competitive executive compensation package aligned with industry standards and performance metrics.
  • Opportunity to shape the operational foundation and growth trajectory of a multi-sector enterprise in Nigeria.
  • Direct influence on high-impact projects spanning renewable energy and sustainable economic development.
  • Collaborative executive work environment with autonomy to drive meaningful systemic improvements.
