We are currently seeking an analytical and highly accountable Group Accountant to join our dynamic team in Nigeria and provide central financial oversight across our growing business units.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial transparency and operational efficiency across the Group. Core duties include:
- Coordinate accounting and financial reporting activities across all business units.
- Prepare and consolidate monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of revenue across cash, POS, transfers, and other payment channels.
- Monitor revenue leakages, financial discrepancies, and unusual transactions.
- Review expenditure requests, vendor invoices, and supporting documentation before payment.
- Coordinate annual and periodic budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor Group bank accounts, cash positions, petty cash, and inter-business fund movements.
- Work with Inventory, Procurement, and Operations teams on stock accounting, valuation, and cost control.
- Review payroll, staff deductions, and bonuses before final processing.
- Develop and enforce robust financial policies, approval limits, and internal-control procedures.
- Coordinate tax, statutory, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise Accountants, Cashiers, and other finance personnel across the Group.
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of cognate experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and Group-level consolidation.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash-flow management, revenue control, and cost management.
- Proficiency in inventory accounting, payroll management, Nigerian taxation, and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel skills and hands-on proficiency with modern accounting software.
- Exceptional analytical, reconciliation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
