About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier medical institution dedicated to healthcare excellence, academic research, and compassionate patient care. We are currently seeking a dynamic and analytical Deputy Director of Finance to join our expanding leadership team in Enugu, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and fiscal strategies while supporting our mission to train the next generation of healthcare leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Direct day-to-day financial operations, accounting functions, and budget administration within the hospital.
- Manage the healthcare revenue cycle, billing systems, cost containment, and financial risk mitigation.
- Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and institutional accounting standards.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, forecasts, and strategic budgets for executive management and the board.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital departments to optimize resource allocation and financial performance.
- Oversee internal audits, streamline accounting processes, and supervise finance department personnel.
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Active membership in recognized professional bodies such as ICAN, ACCA, CIPFA, ICMA, or ICPA with valid practicing licenses where applicable.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, preferably within a hospital or clinical environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or enterprise ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycles.
- High level of integrity, ICT compliance, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
