About the Role
International Facilities Services Limited (IFS) is an international facilities management company operating global standards to a wide range of clients in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and the Middle East. We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Grounds & Landscaping Specialist to oversee our grounds and landscaping team, ensuring high standards of planting, plant health, irrigation, and general grounds upkeep on-site.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee the grounds and landscaping team, allocating daily tasks and ensuring consistent coverage across all zones.
- Plan and schedule preventive and corrective grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilising, and pest control.
- Oversee plant health across lawns, beds, and hedges, diagnosing and addressing disease or irrigation issues promptly.
- Operate and provide hands-on guidance on professional grounds equipment such as ride-on mowers, brush cutters, and chainsaws.
- Ensure safety compliance and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) across the entire grounds team.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and task schedules using modern facilities management software platforms.
- OND, HND, or relevant certification in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Agricultural Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in grounds and landscaping management with demonstrable supervisory skills.
- Extensive hands-on expertise in operating various heavy grounds maintenance equipment and tools.
- Strong knowledge of local climate planting, irrigation management, and weed control practices.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
