About the Role
The World Literacy Foundation is seeking a dedicated Grant Writer & Funding Research Officer to support our expanding digital learning initiatives in Nigeria. In this hands-on hybrid role based in Lagos, you will drive crucial fundraising efforts to empower communities through literacy and education.
Key Responsibilities- Research, identify, and qualify funding opportunities from UK trusts, foundations, and international donors.
- Write compelling, high-quality grant applications, proposals, and impact-driven narratives.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of funding prospects and manage accurate database records using Microsoft 365.
- Draft engaging donor outreach communications and conduct timely follow-ups.
- Prepare weekly activity reports and monitor progress against agreed KPIs and targets.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or proposal development.
- Strong understanding of UK trusts, foundations, and international funding mechanisms.
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills with a proven talent for storytelling.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Must be currently based in Lagos, Nigeria, with the ability to work from our Lekki Phase 1 office two days a week.
- Competitive monthly salary of ₦425,000.
