Canterbury International Schools is a reputable institution running Pre-School, Kindergarten, Primary, and High School sections, dedicated to elevating educational standards in Nigeria. We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated, and qualified Government / Citizenship Education Teacher to join our dynamic academic team. In this role, you will help shape civic responsibility and political understanding among our high school students within a nurturing, hardworking, and values-driven community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in Government and Citizenship Education to senior secondary students up to the WASSCE level.
- Prepare and deliver curriculum-compliant lessons tailored to meet IGCSE standards.
- Design, administer, and grade assignments, quizzes, and examinations to monitor student progress.
- Foster an inclusive, God-fearing, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
- Provide academic counseling and mentorship to students, supporting their holistic development and preparation for future success.
- Participate in school co-curricular activities, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development workshops.
- Minimum of a B.Sc. (Ed.), B.A. (Ed.), or B.Ed. in Political Science, Education, or a related discipline.
- At least five (5) years of proven teaching experience in Senior Secondary School up to the WASSCE level.
- Demonstrated ability to teach Government and Citizenship Education at the IGCSE level is essential.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
