About the Role
West African Exploration and Production Company (WAEP) is an indigenous energy leader dedicated to safe, efficient, and sustainable hydrocarbon exploration and production across West Africa. We are currently seeking a talented and driven Geoscientist to provide technically robust subsurface interpretations that enhance our exploration, appraisal, and field development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and well data to build coherent subsurface interpretations and structural maps.
- Drive prospect identification, maturation, risking, and accurate volumetric assessments.
- Contribute actively to static model development, reservoir characterization, and Field Development Plans within multidisciplinary teams.
- Evaluate subsurface risks and uncertainties, clearly communicating implications to stakeholders for strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with Reservoir Engineering, Petrophysics, Drilling, and Production teams to optimize well placement and asset value.
- Maintain comprehensive subsurface databases, interpretation projects, and deliver high-quality technical reports.
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- A relevant Master's Degree in a geosciences field is considered a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant upstream E&P geoscience experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Active membership in relevant professional geoscience bodies is highly desirable.
