About the Role

Showers Christian High School, an esteemed institution fully accredited by the Rivers State and Federal Ministries of Education as well as the British Council, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher. In this role, you will prepare students for prestigious local and international examinations including WAEC, NECO, and Cambridge International Examinations (Checkpoint, O and A Levels). We are looking for an inspiring educator who can bring geography to life, foster critical thinking, and uphold our high standards of academic and moral excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Geography lessons aligned with Nigerian and British curricula.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for WAEC, NECO, and Cambridge O and A Level examinations.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
  • Create a stimulating, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, and academic performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Education, or a related field (Master's degree is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant teaching experience in a reputable secondary school.
  • Proven track record of preparing students successfully for WAEC, NECO, or Cambridge examinations.
  • Strong command of the English language with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about Christian values, student development, and modern pedagogical methods.
  • Professional teaching certification (TRCN or equivalent) is required.
