About the Role
Viju Industries Nigeria Limited, a leading and dynamic firm in the fast-moving beverage production industry, is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Generator Technician to join our growing technical operations team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and maintenance of our heavy-duty power generating sets, directly supporting our continuous manufacturing processes and operational success.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on natural gas and diesel generators rated above 800KW.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently to minimize equipment downtime and production delays.
- Conduct regular system inspections, performance tests, and fluid analysis on large industrial generators.
- Overhaul engine components, alternator systems, control panels, and auxiliary equipment as required.
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance logs, spare parts inventory, and service history reports for all power assets.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards during all operational and repair tasks.
- Collaborate closely with the electrical and facilities team to manage seamless power transitions and load balancing.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on operational and maintenance experience with natural gas or diesel generators rated above 800KW.
- OND, HND, or Trade Test certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting complex generator control panels, wiring diagrams, and engine management systems.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety protocols and power plant operations.
- Ability to work under pressure, respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, and manage shifting priorities.
