About the Role
Imo Robotic Surgery and Oncology Centre Limited is a pioneering, state-of-the-art medical institution established through a strategic Public-Private Partnership with the Imo State Government. Located at the Imo State Specialist Hospital in Umuguma, Owerri, our facility is poised to become West Africa's premier hub for advanced minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive cancer care. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated General Surgeon to join our high-performing clinical team and help eliminate outbound medical tourism by delivering exceptional patient outcomes using cutting-edge medical technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced general surgical procedures with a strong focus on minimally invasive techniques and precision patient care.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary oncology and surgical team to develop comprehensive treatment plans for cancer patients.
- Utilize state-of-the-art surgical technologies, including robotic-assisted platforms, to improve operational accuracy and recovery times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records in compliance with institutional standards and healthcare regulations.
- Participate in clinical audits, research initiatives, and continuous professional development programs to uphold international best practices.
- Provide compassionate pre-operative and post-operative counseling and care to patients and their families.
- Possess a recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Hold a valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)..
- Postgraduate fellowship qualification (e.g., FWACS, FMCS, or equivalent) in General Surgery.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a reputable hospital setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgical procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills suited for a fast-paced medical environment.
