We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Associate Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic team in Rivers. In this role, you will play a vital part in the healthcare ecosystem by performing accurate diagnostic tests that empower physicians to make informed treatment decisions, ensuring every patient receives exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, label, and safely process clinical specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples while maintaining sample integrity.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment such as microscopes and automated analyzers to ensure peak performance.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe disposal of biohazardous waste.
- Perform routine and urgent diagnostic tests with high precision, double-checking results to eliminate errors.
- Document and manage accurate laboratory records, ensuring prompt communication of test results to attending physicians.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the laboratory’s Quality Management System (QMS) and uphold clinical best practices.
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (BMLS) or Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences (BSc MLS).
- Valid and current practicing license issued by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Completed NYSC with a valid discharge or exemption certificate.
- Residence within a 10km radius of the designated facility or the ability to commute reliably on a daily basis.
- Certification in Quality Management Systems or previous experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is an added advantage.
