About the Role

Proten International is seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager, Telecoms Business to drive commercial leadership, revenue growth, and strategic partnerships across our expanding telecommunications portfolio. Based in Lagos, Nigeria, this executive leadership role is pivotal in protecting existing revenue, commercializing innovative products, and engaging high-level stakeholders within the vibrant Nigerian telecoms ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive commercial growth strategies to achieve ambitious revenue, margin, and product targets.
  • Personally originate, negotiate, and close high-value B2B telecoms opportunities with MNOs, carriers, ISPs, and enterprise clients.
  • Lead product commercialization across Value-Added Services (VAS), enterprise messaging, A2P SMS, USSD, CPaaS, and digital solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with finance and technical teams to ensure pricing discipline, revenue assurance, and robust commercial governance.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing commercial team focused on business development, account management, and strategic partnerships.
  • Provide insightful monthly and quarterly performance reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA or professional certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in telecommunications, digital infrastructure, or technology-driven industries, with at least 5 years in a senior commercial leadership role.
  • Proven track record of originating, negotiating, and closing complex B2B telecoms transactions within the Nigerian market.
  • Deep understanding of telecoms economics, Interconnect, IDA, VAS ecosystem, carrier services, and commercial contracting.
  • Exceptional leadership, relationship-building, financial acumen, and executive presentation skills.
