About the Role
West African Exploration and Production Company (WAEP) is a leading indigenous energy company headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, dedicated to sustainable hydrocarbon development. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Gas Development & Infrastructure Lead to manage our strategic gas initiatives from concept through execution. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering robust gas gathering, processing, and transportation solutions that drive energy security and economic growth across the West African region.
Key Responsibilities- Develop comprehensive gas development concepts, infrastructure strategies, and project execution plans aligned with corporate assets and commercial objectives.
- Lead feasibility studies, concept selections, pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed engineering for gas gathering, compression, processing plants, and export pipelines.
- Integrate subsurface, production, facilities, commercial, regulatory, and multidisciplinary project inputs into cohesive development solutions.
- Define project scopes, design bases, technical specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and execution strategies.
- Manage engineering contractors, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, cost, constructability, and operability risks proactively.
- Ensure full compliance with industry codes, international standards, regulatory frameworks, health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, and Nigerian Content directives.
- Support tendering processes, technical bid evaluations, contracting, and contractor performance monitoring.
- Oversee commissioning, start-up, facility handovers, and comprehensive project close-out activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Civil, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant oil and gas project and facilities experience, with substantial exposure to midstream and gas infrastructure development.
- Relevant professional engineering registration (e.g., COREN) and recognized project management certifications are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in project controls, risk management, cost control, schedule optimization, and technical assurance.
