About the Role
United Bank for Africa (UBA) is a leading pan-African financial services institution with over 65 years of banking operations excellence. We are currently looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to drive our digital transformation and governance initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will bridge technical development with robust IT governance, building secure, scalable, and compliant enterprise applications that power the future of banking in Nigeria and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain robust full-stack applications using modern technologies such as React, Vue, Node.js, Python, and Java.
- Integrate core IT governance frameworks including COBIT and ISO/IEC 27001 seamlessly into the software development lifecycle.
- Lead and participate in agile development projects while championing stringent code reviews focused on security, compliance, and auditability.
- Support ITIL operational processes including incident, problem, and change management to ensure high availability of production systems.
- Ensure all software solutions strictly comply with PENCOM regulations, GDPR, and the Nigeria Data Protection Act.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture design, microservices development, and secure database management across SQL and NoSQL platforms.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in full-stack software development within complex environments.
- Proficiency in at least two backend frameworks (Node.js, Python, Java, .NET) and frontend technologies (React, Vue, Angular).
- Strong working knowledge of IT governance standards, secure coding practices, and application security.
- Experience working within regulated industries, preferably banking, fintech, or pensions operations.
- Professional certifications such as COBIT, ITIL, Scrum Master, or PMP are highly preferred.
