St. Columbanus Secondary School (SCOSSI), a prestigious co-educational Catholic mission boarding school in Akwa Ibom State, is seeking a qualified and dynamic French Teacher. Founded in 1959 and operating under the Catholic Diocese of Ikot Ekpene, we combine rigorous academic training with strong moral and spiritual formation. Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive French lessons aligned with the approved secondary school curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic improvement and language proficiency.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning and cultural appreciation.
- Participate in school co-curricular activities, department meetings, and professional development programs.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavioral development.
- Must possess a minimum of a First Degree (BA, B.Ed, or HND) in French or a related linguistic field with a First Class or Second Class Upper division.
- Additional educational qualifications such as a PGDE or a higher degree (Master's or PhD) will be considered a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated exceptional teaching ability, strong communication skills, and sound moral character.
- Relevant secondary school teaching experience is advantageous, though enthusiastic first-time applicants are also welcome to apply.
