About the Role
HelpMum is leveraging the power of mobile technology and low-cost innovation to tackle maternal and infant mortality in remote rural, semi-rural, and urban areas across Nigeria. We are currently looking for a talented Flutter & WhatsApp Chatbot Engineer to develop, scale, and maintain our cutting-edge chatbot and mobile applications. If you are passionate about health-tech and creating social impact through code, this onsite role on Lagos Island offers an exciting platform to transform healthcare delivery for mothers and babies.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain high-performing, reusable, and clean code using Flutter and Dart.
- Build, deploy, and enhance WhatsApp chatbots utilizing the Turn.io DSL platform.
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, and UI/UX teams to implement innovative features.
- Ensure the optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of mobile applications and messaging integrations.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to continuously optimize user experience.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain robust software development standards and code consistency.
- Stay up to date with emerging mobile development trends, Flutter updates, and conversational AI best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field; relevant engineering certifications are a strong plus.
- Proven professional experience building WhatsApp chatbots and maintaining existing messaging systems.
- Strong proficiency in Flutter and Dart, with solid experience in RESTful API integrations.
- Demonstrated passion for technology-driven social innovation and health-tech solutions.
- Must currently reside on Lagos Island or be able to commute seamlessly to the onsite office location.
