About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is looking for a strategic and results-driven Fleet Head of Department (Fleet HOD) to oversee our comprehensive fleet operations and logistics network in Nigeria. In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for maximizing vehicle utilization, minimizing operational costs, and maintaining top-tier safety standards across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive fleet strategies, standard operating procedures, and policies to optimize vehicle reliability and efficiency.
- Oversee end-to-end fleet operations, including vehicle deployment, routing, scheduling, and logistics coordination.
- Establish robust preventive and corrective maintenance programs to extend asset lifespan and minimize vehicle downtime.
- Manage driver recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and safety compliance using modern telematics and GPS tracking.
- Ensure full adherence to Nigerian traffic laws, safety regulations, and documentation standards, including FRSC compliance and vehicle insurance.
- Prepare, manage, and optimize the annual fleet budget focusing on fuel efficiency, procurement, and vendor negotiations.
- Leverage data analytics and fleet management software to generate performance reports and implement strategic cost-saving initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in fleet management and transport operations, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
- Professional certifications such as CILT or CPFP are highly desirable.
- Deep expertise in fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, telematics, and advanced MS Excel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle mechanics, lifecycle cost analysis, and Nigerian regulatory frameworks.
