About the Role
Jumia is Nigeria's leading online shopping destination, offering a vast selection of electronics, fashion, home appliances, and more with convenient payment and delivery options. We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven First Mile & Last Mile Manager to lead our regional logistics operations in Osogbo. In this pivotal role, you will ensure seamless pickup and delivery execution, maintain high safety standards, and optimize overall supply chain efficiency to deliver exceptional service to our customers across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of First Mile and Last Mile operators to guarantee timely and accurate pickup and delivery execution.
- Assign daily tasks, schedules, and delivery routes based on priority, workload, and customer requirements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, customer satisfaction scores, and vehicle utilization, taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments including Warehouse Operations, Procurement, and Customer Service to streamline logistics and resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Ensure strict adherence to local transportation regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Maintain comprehensive records of delivery activities, driver performance, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance work culture focused on continuous improvement and team motivation.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in logistics operations, transportation, or delivery services.
- At least 2 years of demonstrable experience in a leadership or supervisory role managing teams.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in logistics technology, including route planning software, GPS tracking systems, and reporting tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Must be based in or willing to work from Osogbo.
