About the Role
Jumia is the leading online shopping destination in Nigeria, offering a vast assortment of electronics, fashion, home appliances, and more with convenient payment options like pay-on-delivery. We are currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven First Mile & Last Mile Manager to lead our logistics operations in Lagos. In this pivotal role, you will oversee pickup and delivery execution, manage a dedicated team of operators, and ensure our logistics processes meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise First Mile and Last Mile operators to ensure timely, accurate pickup and delivery execution.
- Assign daily tasks and optimize routes based on workload priorities and customer requirements.
- Provide comprehensive training, guidance, and support to enhance team productivity and performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators including on-time delivery rates, customer satisfaction, and vehicle utilization.
- Coordinate seamlessly with internal warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams to resolve logistics bottlenecks.
- Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate operational records regarding deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and driver performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics operations, transportation, or delivery services.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in logistics technology tools, GPS tracking systems, and route optimization software.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Must be based in Lagos with a deep understanding of the local geography.
