About the Role
Action Against Hunger | ACF Nigeria LTD/GTE is a global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger, saving the lives of malnourished children, and providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Finance Manager to be based in Sokoto, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will ensure accurate and compliant financial management, encompassing accounting, reporting, cash management, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and donor compliance at the base level.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee base-level accounting procedures, ensuring strict compliance with established financial policies and internal controls.
- Manage monthly field accounting book closures, cash counts, bank reconciliations, and timely reporting to the Capital Office.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax regulations, including accurate Withholding Tax (WHT) deductions, recording, and documentation.
- Support budget holders in preparing forecasts, monitoring Budget Follow-Ups (BFU), and analyzing variances to mitigate financial risks.
- Implement cash management procedures, maintain optimal fund levels, and process payments within the delegation of authority.
- Lead periodic internal audits using the Financial Audit Procedure (FAP) tool and follow up on audit recommendations.
- Supervise, mentor, and build the capacity of the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant through targeted training and performance management.
- Advanced Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of professional finance experience, including team supervision.
- Mandatory professional accounting certification (ICAN, ANAN, or equivalent).
- Strong expertise in financial management, budgeting, risk management, and donor compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software, with preference for ODOO and familiarity with SAGA and ACF financial frameworks.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills coupled with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism with fluency in English.
