About the Role
Street Child is a UK charity established in 2008, dedicated to creating educational opportunities for the world's most vulnerable children. Having transformed the lives of over 50,000 children across Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nepal, we launched our operations in Nigeria in 2017 to support children impacted by conflict in the North East. As our Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial stewardship, ensuring robust donor accountability, and providing strategic financial insights to support our mission and growth in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and timely financial recording using the Aqila financial system, providing direct input, training, and support to staff.
- Manage month-end processes, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, month-end closures, and financial report generation.
- Develop annual budgets in alignment with organizational guidelines and timetables.
- Provide reliable Budget vs Actual (BVA) reports and donor financial reports to senior leadership and program staff.
- Support donor compliance, due diligence, audits, and budget proposal development.
- Review, assess, and strengthen internal controls, procurement processes, and cash management procedures.
- Manage cost allocation tables, HQ fund requisitions, and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certification such as ACCA or CPA is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience within a nonprofit or donor-funded environment.
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Aqila Accounting software is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with auditors, senior leadership, and program teams.
