About the Role
Protergia Energy Nigeria is a leading renewable energy developer and independent power producer specializing in solar-powered captive power plants and rural mini-grid electrification projects. We leverage cutting-edge technologies including IoT devices, mobile payments, and machine learning to deliver sustainable energy solutions across corporate, industrial, and public sectors.
We are seeking a strategic Finance Manager to provide comprehensive financial leadership and oversight. You will manage all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, cash-flow management, financial controls, taxation, compliance, and project costing functions. This role requires close collaboration with the CEO, management teams, project managers, operations, commercial development, and technical teams to ensure financial resources align with our renewable energy objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement financial strategy aligned with business growth objectives and provide strategic financial advice to leadership
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes; monitor expenditure against approved budgets and investigate variances
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, financial statements, and performance reports with detailed analysis
- Develop comprehensive project financial models for mini-grid and solar projects, including CAPEX/OPEX analysis and investment metrics
- Monitor project expenditure, revenue assumptions, and financial performance against approved targets
- Manage grant and donor-funded project finances, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and proper documentation
- Oversee daily cash position, prepare weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasts, and ensure adequate liquidity
- Maintain banking relationships and manage working capital efficiently
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant accounting and financial management experience
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow management, and financial controls
- Experience in renewable energy, power, infrastructure, utilities, or project-based businesses
- Strong background in project finance, financial modelling, and donor-funded project management
- Experience working with investors, lenders, or development finance institutions
