About the Role

Lovonus Microfinance Bank is a Central Bank of Nigeria-licensed institution dedicated to providing quality and cost-effective financial services to micro, small, and low-income entrepreneurs. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical, and reliable Reconciliation Officer to join our dynamic Operations and Finance team in Lagos mainland. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the absolute accuracy and integrity of our financial transactions through meticulous daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations, helping us maintain strong operational controls and safeguard our financial assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily reconciliation of bank statements, core banking transaction logs, clearing accounts, and third-party payment gateway feeds including NIBSS, Interswitch, and Remita.
  • Identify, track, and thoroughly investigate transaction variances, un-cleared items, and unexplained general ledger differences.
  • Maintain an updated reconciliation exception log and drive timely resolutions with internal departments, correspondent banks, and switching platforms.
  • Monitor general ledger suspense and clearing accounts to prevent long-outstanding balances and mitigate revenue leakage.
  • Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation status reports to management and regulatory control functions.
  • Assist internal and external auditors as well as regulatory compliance officers during routine examinations by providing requested documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking and Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven experience as a Reconciliation Officer, Settlement Officer, or Fintech Operations Officer within the Nigerian financial sector.
  • Proficiency in core banking applications and advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables.
  • Familiarity with electronic settlement channels, card processing, and NIBSS instant payment clearing processes.
  • Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIBN represent a strong added advantage.
