About the Role
M-KOPA is a pioneering FinTech platform expanding access to life-enhancing products and services across Africa through innovative asset financing. Key Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end monthly close process, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, depreciation, and foreign exchange accounting.
- Own the IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss model, monitor the loan book, analyze repayment behaviors by cohort, and oversee provisioning trends.
- Serve as a commercial business partner by interrogating unit economics, modeling new product launches, and building financial business cases for leadership.
- Ensure robust statutory and regulatory compliance while maintaining rigorous documentation for funding and audit processes.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, CA or equivalent) with proven experience managing financial reporting and accounting cycles.
- Demonstrated expertise in applied IFRS standards, specifically IFRS 9, IFRS 16, IAS 21, and revenue recognition.
- Exceptional financial modeling and stakeholder communication skills, with Big 4 accounting training considered a strong advantage.
