About the Role
The Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF) is a non-profit organization established in December 2013 to improve decision-making and execution quality in Nigeria's health sector. We are currently looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, and supporting treasury operations. This internship provides a fantastic stepping stone for fresh graduates aspiring to build a successful career in accounting within the development sector.
Key Responsibilities- Download travel advance requests and retirements from staff on bulk pay.
- Assist in the clearing and processing of financial documents on SAP.
- Report weekly cash positions per bank and project to aid financial planning.
- Support the treasury unit by capturing payments accurately on Excel spreadsheets.
- Upload payments onto various bank platforms including GAPS, S2B, and IBTC Business Online.
- Collate disbursement requests and submit them to the Finance Officer for review.
- Ensure proper documentation by stamping 'PAID' on completed payment vouchers.
- Scan, organize, and file payment vouchers and journals according to project guidelines.
- Act as the primary finance contact for incoming documents and route them appropriately.
- Provide timely updates to staff regarding the status of their payment requests.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates and current or recent NYSC corp members are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Strong aspiration to become a certified professional accountant (e.g., ICAN, ACCA).
- Basic computer literacy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a collaborative team spirit.
