About the Role
CIG Motor Ltd, the authorized distributor of world-renowned GAC Motor, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Controller to lead the financial operations for our innovative LAGRIDE initiative in Nigeria. In this strategic role, you will play a pivotal part in driving our financial performance, ensuring robust internal controls, and supporting our rapid expansion in the Nigerian automotive market. Key Responsibilities- Manage the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and inventory accounting, ensuring timely reconciliations.
- Supervise the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor financial performance, cash flow, working capital, and key financial indicators.
- Ensure strict compliance with IFRS, tax, statutory regulations, and internal control policies.
- Identify financial risks, control gaps, and discrepancies, recommending effective corrective actions.
- Coordinate monthly inventory counts and reconcile physical assets with accounting records.
- Review and approve payment vouchers, sales invoices, journals, and financial documents.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, preparing required schedules and documentation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and comprehensive variance reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the finance and accounting team to ensure accuracy and timely deliverables.
- Liaise with banks, tax authorities, auditors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.
- Must possess an ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting certification.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Prior experience in inventory-driven industries such as automotive, manufacturing, retail, or FMCG.
- Strong expertise in GAAP, IFRS, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and ERP systems.
