About the Role
Malaria Consortium is recruiting a State Finance Assistant to join our dynamic team in Abia State, Nigeria. In this role, you will provide vital financial and clerical support to ensure proper record-keeping of all transactions in accordance with organizational policies and donor regulations, contributing significantly to our mission of tackling malaria.
Key Responsibilities- Review all financial transactions to ensure completeness of documentation, proper cost classification, and coding.
- Prepare payment vouchers, payment schedules for workshops, meetings, and training participants, and track supplier invoices.
- Safeguard organizational resources by rigorously scrutinizing payment requests, Travel Advance Forms (TAFs), and Payment Request Forms (PRFs).
- Maintain an Excel journal template for recording completed payments and share weekly with the Finance Officer.
- Handle scanning, filing, archiving, and safe custody of all finance documents in compliance with the Malaria Consortium Finance Manual.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring documents are readily available and assist with asset spot-checks and physical verification.
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Social Sciences.
- Minimum of 1 year of post-graduation experience, with at least 6 months in a finance or accounts support role.
- Previous experience working with an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- High integrity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle sensitive data confidentially.
