About the Role
BluNet Internet Solutions Limited is a fast-growing telecommunications company dedicated to bridging the digital divide by delivering dependable, high-speed connectivity to homes, enterprises, and public offices. We are currently looking for a skilled Field Technician specializing in FTTH, FTTB, and FTTX technologies to join our dynamic operations team in Lagos and ensure exceptional network performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Grow the subscriber activation base within estates and businesses across Lagos and assigned operational locations.
- Install, configure, and commission all head ends, access, and core fiber routes following industry best practices.
- Perform end-to-end fiber circuit commissioning and span testing using OTDR and OLTS equipment.
- Handle corrective troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to resolve fiber breakdowns promptly.
- Verify, capture, and maintain accurate as-built documentation and network designs using OSS systems.
- Collaborate with internal operations, account managers, project managers, and third-party suppliers for seamless project deployment.
- Diploma or equivalent work experience in a relevant technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in the telecommunications industry, with at least 2 years focused on fiber installation and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of OSP, ISP, ducts, fiber build methodologies, splice enclosures, and patch panels.
- Proficiency in optical networking tools including OTDR, OLTS, and fiber splicing equipment.
- Familiarity with mapping and network tools such as Google Earth, QGIS, and B/OSS software.
