About the Role
Jaza Energy, the last-mile energy company building solar energy charging stations and renting batteries in off-grid communities, is seeking a talented and driven Field Service Engineer to join our growing team in Oyo, Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in managing technical operations, ensuring uninterrupted power at our sites, and driving optimal energy uptime across our regional hubs through expert troubleshooting, maintenance, and system optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure maximum energy uptime and power availability by proactively monitoring systems and swiftly diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Support the setup of new hubs, establish connectivity, and perform routine maintenance on hub energy systems via onsite visits or remote troubleshooting.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring, inverters, and associated equipment.
- Collaborate closely with local teams and data analysts to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation of field activities, hub equipment, and product component inventory records.
- Prepare regular reports on hub health and technical performance for submission to leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, though demonstrated hands-on experience is highly valued.
- 2 to 3 years of practical engineering experience within the renewable energy, telecommunications, or power sector.
- Proven expertise in solar design, solar installation, solar inverter maintenance, and electrical wiring.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an unwavering commitment to HSE safety standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including MS Office and Google Workspace.
