About the Role
Jaza Energy, a pioneering last-mile energy company building solar charging stations and renting batteries in off-grid communities, is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our expanding team in Osun State. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in managing technical operations, optimizing system performance, and swiftly resolving field issues to guarantee uninterrupted power at our sites. This dynamic opportunity requires significant travel across Nigeria, offering you the chance to make a tangible impact on rural energy access while working with a diverse, global team.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure maximum energy uptime and power availability by monitoring systems and quickly diagnosing and solving technical issues.
- Support the setup of new hubs, establish connectivity, and perform routine maintenance both on-site and remotely.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring, and associated equipment.
- Collaborate closely with local teams and data analysts to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for hub equipment and product components while documenting all field activities.
- Prepare regular, detailed reports on hub health and technical performance for the Regional Service Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, backed by strong practical experience.
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on engineering experience within the renewable energy, telecommunications, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in solar design, solar installation, solar inverter maintenance, and electrical design and installation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strict commitment to HSE safety standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, Microsoft Office suite, and Google Workspace products.
- Self-motivated, tech-savvy, and deeply passionate about increasing sustainable energy access in off-grid communities.
