About the Role
Jaza Energy, the premier last-mile energy company building solar charging stations and renting batteries in off-grid communities, is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our expanding team in Ondo, Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in managing regional technical operations, optimizing system performance, and ensuring uninterrupted power at our sites. This exciting opportunity requires hands-on technical expertise, field travel, and a passion for driving sustainable energy access across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure maximum energy uptime and power availability at sites by monitoring systems and rapidly diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Support the setup of new hubs, establish connectivity, and perform routine maintenance via on-site visits or remote troubleshooting.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring, and associated energy equipment.
- Collaborate closely with local teams and data analysts to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation of field activities, hub equipment, and component inventory records.
- Prepare regular technical reports on hub health and performance for the Regional Service Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2-3 years of hands-on technical experience within the renewable energy, solar, or telecommunications sector.
- Proven expertise in solar design, solar installation, solar inverter maintenance, and electrical wiring.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a strict commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to travel frequently within Nigeria and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
