About the Role
Jaza Energy, a pioneering last-mile energy company building solar charging stations and battery rentals in off-grid communities, is seeking a talented Field Service Engineer to join our growing team in Akure, Ondo. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in managing technical operations, optimizing system performance, and swiftly resolving issues to guarantee uninterrupted power at our sites. Key Responsibilities- Ensure maximum energy uptime and power availability by monitoring systems and rapidly diagnosing technical issues.
- Support the setup of new hubs, establish connectivity, and perform routine or remote hub energy system maintenance.
- Oversee the professional installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring, and associated equipment.
- Collaborate closely with local teams and data analysts to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of hub equipment and document all daily field activities.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on hub health and technical performance for the Regional Service Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, backed by strong hands-on experience.
- 2 to 3 years of practical engineering experience within the renewable energy, telecommunications, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in solar design, solar installation, solar inverter maintenance, and electrical design.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a strict commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, MS Office suite, and Google Workspace products.
- Ability to travel significantly within Nigeria and work independently or as part of a global team.
- Solve challenging, impactful problems in the renewable energy sector during an exciting growth phase.
