About the Role
Jaza Energy, a pioneering last-mile energy company building solar charging stations and battery rentals in off-grid communities, is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to support our rapid expansion. In this vital role, you will manage technical operations, optimize system performance, and swiftly resolve issues to guarantee uninterrupted power at our sites. This position involves frequent travel within Nigeria and offers the chance to make a tangible impact on sustainable energy access.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure maximum energy uptime and power availability through proactive system monitoring and rapid troubleshooting.
- Support the setup, connectivity, and routine maintenance of new energy hubs via on-site visits or remote assistance.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring, and associated hardware.
- Collaborate closely with local teams and data analysts to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of hub equipment and product components while documenting all field activities.
- Prepare regular technical reports on hub health and performance metrics for the Regional Service Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, backed by strong hands-on experience.
- 2 to 3 years of engineering experience within the renewable energy, telecommunications, or power sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in solar design, solar installation, inverter maintenance, electrical installation, and electrical design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strict commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace, and data reporting tools.
- High level of tech-savviness, adaptability, and a genuine passion for expanding clean energy access.
