About the Role
Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited is a leading provider of engineering and project support services to the global oil and gas industry. We are currently seeking a dedicated Risk and Loss Prevention Engineer / Specialist II to join our growing team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our operations by evaluating engineering designs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed internally, by contractors, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in or lead comprehensive risk studies and conduct advanced consequence analyses, including toxic gas dispersion modeling.
- Develop, update, and formalize safety standards, instructions, and codes into documented company practices.
- Facilitate effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines aligned with project goals, objectives, and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication among the project team and other company functions regarding discipline engineering activities, progress, and critical issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering within a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive and broad knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.
- Demonstrated professional experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) as well as Loss Prevention within the oil and gas sector.
- Strong ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in project priorities.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with a strong grasp of technical and business terminology.
