About the Role
Jaza Energy, a leading last-mile energy company building solar charging stations and renting batteries in off-grid communities, is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our expanding team in Edo, Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in managing technical operations, optimizing system performance, and swiftly resolving issues at the regional level to guarantee uninterrupted power and maximum energy uptime across our hubs.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure maximum energy uptime and power availability at sites by monitoring systems and quickly diagnosing and solving technical issues.
- Support the setup of new hubs, ensure connectivity, and perform routine hub energy system maintenance through travel or remote troubleshooting.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring, and associated equipment.
- Collaborate with local teams and data analysts to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges effectively.
- Document all field activities and maintain accurate inventory records for hub equipment and product components.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on hub health and technical issues to the Regional Service Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical hands-on experience.
- 2 to 3 years of technical and engineering experience within the renewable energy, telecommunications, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in installing, maintaining, and ensuring the uptime of solar energy systems and related infrastructure.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a strict commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools, Microsoft Office suite, and Google Workspace products.
- Ability to work independently, travel significantly within Nigeria, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
