About the Role
Jaza Energy, a leading last-mile energy company building solar charging stations in off-grid communities, is seeking a talented Field Service Engineer to join our expanding team in Abia, Nigeria. In this vital role, you will ensure maximum energy uptime, maintain robust technical systems, and support our mission to bring reliable power to underserved regions through hands-on engineering and regional travel.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor system performance to ensure continuous power availability and rapidly diagnose and resolve technical issues at regional hubs.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of solar panels, electrical wiring, inverters, and associated equipment.
- Support the seamless setup of new energy hubs and establish reliable connectivity across remote locations.
- Collaborate closely with local teams and data analysts to troubleshoot complex challenges and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports on hub health, equipment status, and field activities for regional management.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during all field operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on technical experience within the renewable energy, telecommunications, or power sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in solar design, solar installation, solar inverter maintenance, and electrical wiring.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using MS Office suite, Google Workspace, and data analysis reporting tools.
