About the Role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Field Security Associate to join our dynamic team in Benin City, Nigeria. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to all safety and security operations, helping to manage risks and safeguard IOM personnel, premises, and assets. Key Responsibilities- Maintain effective working relationships with the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), host government agencies, and local security authorities to gather timely, actionable security intelligence.
- Assist the Field Security Officer (FSO) in collecting, updating, and communicating critical security updates and incident reports across the operational area.
- Support the development, implementation, and regular review of IOM Benin City security plans, contingency measures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
- Monitor and ensure staff compliance with essential safety protocols, mandatory security trainings, and travel clearance procedures.
- Manage the local warden system, maintain accurate staff lists, and oversee the operability of communication systems including SCAAN and radio equipment.
- Conduct regular security surveys of offices and organize comprehensive security awareness briefings and orientations for newly arrived personnel.
- University degree in Security, Social Sciences, International Studies, Communications, or a related field with at least three years of relevant professional experience, OR completed high school with five years of experience.
- Demonstrated professional background in humanitarian, public, private, or corporate security sectors.
- Previous experience providing security coordination and administrative support within an international organization is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with UNDSS operations, radio communications equipment, and successful completion of the UNDSS Field Security Associate (FSA) course.
