About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital lending platform in Nigeria, empowering millions of users with instant loans and financial services through our Android app. We are currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven Field Recovery / Verification Officer to join our risk and collections team. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting our asset portfolio by managing loan repayments, conducting verification visits, and engaging with defaulting customers professionally within legal frameworks.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular field visits to engage with defaulting customers, agents, and merchants to demand payments on overdue accounts using legal and ethical means.
- Maintain a detailed daily activity log, tracking metrics such as contact rates, right-party contacts, promises to pay, and fulfilled payments.
- Verify information on overdue arrears and initiate timely follow-up calls and correspondence to resolve outstanding financial issues.
- Negotiate and establish effective payment plans and settlements to prevent accounts from sliding further into delinquency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure swift issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
- University Degree in a relevant field of study.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in consumer loan operations, debt recovery, or merchant delinquency management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data tracking tools.
- High self-motivation, exceptional emotional intelligence, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and local languages.
